Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 September 2026. Short version: we store what we need to run error tracking, billing, and alerts — we do not sell your data.

Who we are

Logswire (“we”) is a hosted Sentry-compatible error tracking service operated by an independent solo founder. Privacy requests: contact form or the email on your account.

Where data is hosted

Application servers and the primary Postgres database run on a VPS at Netcup in Germany (EU). Data does not leave the EU for primary storage. We do not operate multi-region replicas for V1.

Data we process

Account — email, hashed password, reset tokens, login timestamps, organization / plan metadata.
Projects & DSN keys — names, slugs, public keys needed for ingest authentication.
Error events — messages, stacktraces, tags, environment, release, levels, fingerprints, and related issue metadata you send via the SDK or test-event API.
Usage — daily event counters for plan limits.
Alerts — optional Telegram / Discord channel config (tokens / webhook URLs encrypted at rest) and alert rule definitions.
Billing — plan flag and Stripe customer / subscription identifiers when Checkout is used (card data stays with Stripe).
Contact form — name, email, message content, forwarded to the operator (Telegram and/or email).
Technical logs — minimal server logs for security and reliability.

Why we process it

To perform the contract (provide the Service), send transactional email (password reset), operate alerts you enable, enforce quotas, and meet legal obligations (e.g. accounting if you pay).

Sharing — what we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or error payloads with advertisers or data brokers. We do not embed third-party advertising or marketing analytics on the site today.

We use a small set of processors strictly to run the Service:

Netcup — VPS hosting (Germany).
Mailgun — transactional email (password reset; optional operator notify) when configured (prefer EU region).
Stripe — payments when billing is enabled.
Telegram / Discord — only if you (or the operator for contact) configure those channels; message content is sent to those services under their terms.

Retention

Account data lasts while your account exists. You can delete your account from Settings (organization data is erased). Active Pro subscriptions must be cancelled via the billing portal first. Error events and issues are also deleted by automated retention according to your plan (Free: 5 days; Pro: 30 days, as documented on Pricing). Backups of the database may retain data for a short operational window after deletion.

Your rights (EU / GDPR and similar)

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection where applicable. Use the contact form or request account deletion via support. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies only: the session cookie that keeps you signed in (HTTP-only, SameSite) and CSRF tokens on forms. We do not set advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies, so we do not show a cookie consent banner. If that changes, we will ask for consent and update this page.

Security

Passwords are hashed. Sessions use HTTP-only cookies. Alert credentials are encrypted at rest. User-supplied Discord webhooks are validated (HTTPS + SSRF checks). No method is perfect — report issues via the contact form.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16. Do not create an account if you are under the applicable age of digital consent.

Changes

We may update this policy; the date above will change. Continued use after material changes means you accept the updated policy where allowed by law.
